Cherryville men save woman from burning car (CKIZ)
RCMP says men put own safety aside to rescue woman on Hwy6
Last Updated: Thursday, March 7th, 2013 | 1:31pm PST Story by: Sandy Hall

RCMP says if it hadn't been for the heroic actions of 2 North Okanagan men, an elderly woman would have died in her burning car. When Daniel Balcaen and Kevin Meda of Cherryville came upon an accident on Highway 6 last Friday night they immediately sprang into action, bending back the door frame on the car and pulling the woman to safety as the vehicle burst into flame.  As it was the unnamed woman suffered only scrapes, and had to be treated in hospital for breathing
difficulties.
