No charges to be laid against Terrace Mountie
Criminal Justice Branch says no substantial likelihood of assault conviction
Last Updated: Thursday, March 7th, 2013 | 12:33pm PST Story by: Sandy Hall

The Criminal Justice Branch says there is not enough evidence to pursue assault charges against an unnamed Mountie in Terrace.  The officer was accused of repeatedly punching William Watts in the head during an arrest on May 15th, 2012.  Crown lawyers have also concluded that they can't prove unlawful force was used when Watts claims he was pulled from a vehicle and fell to the ground.
