Merritt High School teacher wants Wi-Fi free zones
Last Updated: Wednesday, March 6th, 2013 | 5:41pm PST Story by: Sandy Hall

A Merritt high school teacher is trying to have Wi-Fi limited in classrooms. Yvonne Lord wants students and teachers to have the choice to work in areas where there is no wireless internet access. She believes more research needs to be done before it's safe, especially for young people.

Lord will be presenting her concerns at the next B.C. Teachers Federation conference later this month.

She hopes the B.C.T.F. will adopt several resolutions to limit wireless modems and provide support for teachers who suffer from Wi-Fi sensitivity.
