Sunshine coast first nation gets treaty deal
Tla'amin First nations's multi-million-dollar deal is 9th in province

    A new First Nations treaty deal has been signed in BC - only federal approval is now required.  The deal with the Tla'amin First nation of Powell River on the Sunshine Coast is the 9th such deal to be sign in BC over the last 13 years.  Under the terms of the deal the province will pay the Tla'amin community almost $30-million dollars, along with about $78-million for economic development. The band will also get a quarter million for a fishing boat fund, and 8-thousand hectares of land.
