A week of national mourning has been declared in Venezuela following the death of their socialist President Hugo Chavez. He lost a 2 year battle with cancer yesterday. The capital city looks like a ghost town, with empty streets, and closed schools. Meantime supermarkets and gas stations reported a run on supplies as many fear economic turmoil in the wake of Chavez' death. An election is expected with a month. Meantime the nation's Vice-President will step in to serve as interim president.
